DIPEx Data Sources


Geospatial data is stored in extended assets called data source assets. Based on the type of data source, these assets allow the user to manage the necessary attributes for management of the data. The current vector data sources supported are WFS, Shapefile and PostGIS, and the raster data sources supported are WMS, Raster File and Tile Index of Raster. The Raster File data source is implemented using the Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL), so types include all of the commonly used GIS raster formats, including tiff, geotiff, jpeg 2000, MrSid and ECW. The modular nature of the system architecture allows rapid inclusion of new data source types.
